Run with a purpose

I’m one of those people… I love running. It’s a grind time I’m never gonna regret spending… It’s time to feel the sweat and pain when no one else in the world knows you are. On a run with my dad this summer when we were pushing up a hill in the sweltering heat, he said “Bear, you can’t shine if don’t enjoy the grind.”

Those are good things. But I fear for the people who run without purpose. People who run from things, run in circles, or run alongside fear and ultimately, destruction.

Something I really enjoy is customizing my shoes to fit my needs. Because we all know the feeling when we get on a path of life we aren’t familiar with – we look down at our feet, unsure, uncertain, looking for a wave of hope to carry us in the right direction. Hey, we’re human. It never hurts to have sweet reminders. Here’s mine:

When I look down at my feet, here’s what I’ll see:
John 16:33 – I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
